Gender Assessment
Our Gender Assessments are designed to help you to gain a greater understanding of your gender identity and the impact that has on your wellbeing. We offer specialist gender assessments for children, adolescents and adults, including family where appropriate.
Our expert team will conduct a full gender assessment and make recommendations to help you navigate the world in a way which feels authentic to you, facilitating the opportunity to explore your gender identity in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment.
The resulting report includes a jointly agreed plan to support you with your gender-related needs. The report may be used as an onward referral to the Gender Plus Hormone Clinic or another appropriate endorcrine team. A gender assessment report may also be a requirement for a surgical service.
Our practice is guided by WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) Standards of Care and NHS Service Specifications for Gender Services.
Details:
Specialist gender assessments vary in the number of meetings required.
For under 18s, please allow at least six meetings over a six month period, one of which must be in person at one of our clinics.
For those aged 18 years and over, an assessment typically requires two appointments. These can be held as a video appointment or face-to-face.
A full specialist gender assessment report will be provided.
Costs:
Specialist Gender Assessment appointments cost £325/€395.
